Validating Molecular Markers for Barley Leaf Rust Resistance Genes Rph20 and Rph24

چکیده

Improving resistance to barley leaf rust (caused by Puccinia hordei) is an important breeding objective in most growing regions worldwide. The development and subsequent utilization of high-throughput PCR-based codominant molecular markers remains effective approach select genotypes with multiple genes, permitting efficient gene deployment stewardship. genes Rph20 Rph24 confer widely adult plant (APR) rust, are common European Australian germplasm (often combination), act interactively high levels resistance. Here we report on the validation insertion-deletion (indel) based PCR that highly predictive for alleles Rph20.ai Rph24.an (both referred as Rph24).

Molecular markers for leaf rust resistance genes in wheat.

Over 100 genes of resistance to rust fungi: Puccinia recondita f. sp. tritici, (47 Lr - leaf rust genes), P. striiformis (18 Yr - yellow rust genes) and P. graminis f. sp. tritici (41 Sr - stripe rust genes) have been identified in wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) and its wild relatives according to recent papers. Sixteen Lr resistance genes have been mapped using restriction fragments length polym...

Molecular Markers for Leaf Rust Resistance Gene Lr42 in Wheat

Wheat leaf rust, caused by Puccinia triticina Eriks., is an important wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) foliar disease worldwide. Growing cultivars incorporating genetic resistance is one of the most effective approaches for disease control. Leaf rust resistance gene Lr42 was identified from a wheat relative, Aegilops tauschii Coss. (goatgrass), and has been transferred into hard winter wheat. A pre...

Identification of Leaf Rust Resistance Genes in Selected Egyptian Wheat Cultivars by Molecular Markers

Leaf rust, caused by Puccinia triticina Eriks., is a common and widespread disease of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) in Egypt. Host resistance is the most economical, effective, and ecologically sustainable method of controlling the disease. Molecular markers help to determine leaf rust resistance genes (Lr genes). The objective of this study was to identify Lr genes in fifteen wheat cultivars fr...

Molecular mapping of the leaf rust resistance gene Rph7 in barley

Leaf rust of barley, caused by Puccinia hordei Otth, is an important foliar disease in most temperate regions of the world. Sixteen major leaf rust resistance (Rph) genes have been described from barley, but only a few have been mapped. The leaf rust resistance gene Rph7 was ®rst described from the cultivar `Cebada Capa' and has proven e€ective in Europe. Previously mapped restriction fragment ...
